Book Blogger Hop
This week on Book Blogger Hop, hosted at Crazy-for-Books, we are asked: Do you read only one book at a time, or do you have several going at once?
A:
Typically, I'm a one-book-at-a-time kind of girl. I like to really get into a story and analyze it in depth. It's not that I can't handle two stories at a time - as many of you know, university makes us talented multitaskers in all aspects of life. I just prefer devoting my reading hours to one book at a time. However, I do see the allure of reading two or more books at once... I'm guilty of such reading habits when non-fiction is in question.
Actually, on second thought, I'm currently reading two books simultaneously... Hmm, who would of thought this answer would be so complicated!
Happy Friday everyone! I hope you have fun hopping =)

Hopping by!
ReplyDeleteYour answer was much more straightforward than mine :-).
Happy Hop!
ReplyDeleteI'm pretty much the same way as you - I like to stick to one book. I find that usually when I have two books going, it's because one is boring me and I end up not finishing it anyways!
Me too - am a one-book-at-a-time kind of girl, except in special circumstances :)
ReplyDeleteHere's my Book Blogger Hop: 3/18-3/21 post!
Thanks for stopping by Starting the Next Chapter. I have added you to my following queue. The book you mentioned is very interesting. I would recommend it, especially if you're interested in history. It really makes you think.
ReplyDeleteHopping by .... I have TOO many books going at once. Wish I could be more restrained like you --- but then you're at University. So you're lucky to have at least that one or two to read for fun. I will never pick up a textbook again for a class-for-credit. So liberating!
ReplyDeleteI do read a couple books at a time but didn't do it as a regular practice before blogging. See my post on my blog My Bookshelf.
ReplyDeleteTell me about it. lol. I know exactly what you mean, because most of the time it takes all I have to concentrate on the one book I'm reading so I don't character's and plots mix-matched. Although, now that I think about, I'm starting to see the advantage of a really good cross-over. lol.
ReplyDeleteLike, maybe Katniss from the Hunger Games trilogy meets Cassia from the Matched series. Y/Y?! lol. It's an interesting theory.
And, I really like your blog. Totally too cute and of course, you know I'm following

ReplyDelete<3 the blog!!! I agree I am a one book gal? I can't concentrate on more than one at a time... #Eep!
Pop past our blog to say HI!
I'm actually not a big fan of ebooks but since I'm an international blogger I really have no choice since some publishers does not send review copies internationally. That's why I read one or more books at once :p
ReplyDeletethanks for visiting my blog!
I read multiple books at a time. It must be that multitasking thing I picked up ever since the end of high school, when all kinds of stuff was thrown at us at the same time!
ReplyDeleteI'm an old follower. I hope you can stop by my hop!
Thanks for stopping by The Prairie Library. Have a great weekend!
ReplyDeleteThanks for making the trek over to Gabriel Reads and thanks for the follow. I look forward to reading your posts as well.
ReplyDeleteGood luck with your degree!
Focusing on one story allows for us to really analyze the book's content and what we liked and didn't like. That's me, too, though usually only in the case of novels. =) I'll read either a graphic novel or anthology right along with the novel.
ReplyDeleteHappy hopping and reading!
New follower from the hop! Unfortunately, I'm one of those odd readers that like to read/listen to multiple books at once. Have a great weekend!
ReplyDeleteI usually read one book at a time but things happen. So at times I'm reading multiple.

I've tried to be a one at a timer, but that usually doesn't work out. :)
ReplyDeleteI'm a multi-booker but I understand the benefits of reading one book at a time.
ReplyDeleteEven though I have multiple books going at once I usually devote more time to one specific books and the rest are just there to fill the gap in free times.
I just saw your link on the blog hop and thought I'd stop by but I also wanted to say I'm hosting a give away if you want to come check it out!

Hello! Your new follower here, hopping on your blog!
ReplyDeleteIt is indeed a hard question to answer! Even tho I consider myself one-book-at-a-time person, I did at times read more than one book simultaneously.
Let's connect! I'm over here, at Bookish
Hopping through. I used to be a one book girl, but lately it's hard to just stop at one. I have 4 going right now.

Hi! I love your blog name! You've combined everything I love into one name!lol...
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by the blog and for the follow. I am now following you.
I fully understand how it is hard to say no to all the books out there and to only read one at a time. But as I said on Embrace your oddities, I'm going to give it a try. Maybe I'll be a better reviewer for it.
I just wanted to let you know that I post a guest author spot on the blog today to help a debut author. I'm sorry this might sound tacky, but I am trying to round up my fellow book lovers to help out. Raymond Rose is talking about his two releases and giving away both to one lucky commenter this weekend.
I hope you have a great evening and weekend! thanks!

I can only manage two at once and they have to be different genres to do that. Happy reading!

New follower here, thanks for stopping by my blog. Yours looks like a lot of fun and I'm looking forward to reading more of it.
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by earlier, I don't think I could read only one at a time, but it makes it hard as I have to read uni books as well as for fun. Most times the fun takes over!
ReplyDeleteThank you for your wonderful comment :).
ReplyDeleteI totally get what you mean about reading one at a time. I wish I could dedicate myself like that and only do when I seriously love the novel :P.
Following you back! :)
