Follow Friday

I've decided to spice up my Friday meme this week and give Parajunkee's View a second go. I'm usually a Book Blogger Hop girl, so joining in for a new Friday meme *almost* feels like cheating.

Ah, well.

This week's question is:
What is the book that you really don't want to admit loving?

A:
This is actually a hard question for me to answer. I try my hardest to make every book review truthful and honest - if I really hate a book, I'll say it... if I love it, well then I'll profess my love, too.

But, I'm going to have to say Danielle Steel books are probably my undercover lovers. I read a lot of her work many years ago. Now, I really can't stand how repetitive her writing can be - I swear, she says the same sentence (reworded) over and over again. However... I was addicted to her novels during my teenage years.

  2. I stopped reading Danielle Steele because I couldn't take the emotional rollercoaster. Too many things went wrong and I just couldn't take it anymore. That said, it took many many books for me to get to that point.

  3. The closest I have to an answer for that, at the moment, is The Dresden Files. I like them. I feel like I shouldn't, though. But they're fun! And good. And not static.

  4. I read so much geeky stuff that I just don't have much I'd be embarrassed to say I like, even my D&D spin-off fiction. If I like it, I say I like it and just don't care who knows.

The closest I get to being embarrased by something is my love for For Better or for Worse.

  6. I think I always subconsciously avoided any kind of romance books, especially Daniel Steel, because she's just so famous for her love/romance stories! I think I will give it a try sometime soon, I feel intrigued by so many people posting about her books being their guilty pleasures :)

I'm so happy to see another BC girl! Are you from Vancouver by any chance? *looking hopeful*
I'm of course following you and don't feel bad about doing two memes on Friday, I do both of them, too! :)

  16. Funny how our taste in books changes. I think it's a good thing, though -- opens up some more reading opportunities.

  18. Hey, thanks for stopping by and following. I'm following back too! :)

I've never read a Danielle Steele novel but I'm glad I'm not the only one who has a secret soft spot for some Stephen King. If you like him, you'd probably like Joe Schreiber's No Doors, No Windows and Chase The Dead or Sarah Langan's The Missing and The Keeper.
